Dress for your dreams

What to Wear

Have you always dreamed of wearing a cape? Maybe you have a bolo tie that has been waiting for the right occasion? This, my friends, is that occasion. We want you to dress your dreams. It's not black tie, it's gold three piece suit. It's not cocktail, it's 1960s game show host. The only rule? Let's leave white for the bride.

Need more inspiration? Check out Cub's vision board.

Game Plan

Ceremony

Drinks will start pouring at 4:30PM. Ceremony to start right after.

COcktail Hour

Hang out, play games, find your seat, have a drink! Beer and wine will be had by all (or a refreshing ginger ale).

Dinner and dancing

We've got a DJ, delicious foods, beer and wine!

Where to Stay

IPswich, MA Area Hotels

Ipswich and True North are located right on the commuter rail (Newburyport/Rockport line), about 40 minutes from Boston. There are lots of quaint little hotels in the area or stick to the known comfort of a Hilton (50 Ferncroft Rd, Danvers, MA).

Beaches? Lobster rolls?

The North Shore is the best shore. Get all your fried clams from places like the Lobster Pool (Rockport), the Clam Box (Ipswich), or Essex Seafood (Essex). Hang out at the Sunset Club (Newbury) and check out the ocean (the Atlantic).

About these Weirdos

Who are Cub and Fang?

You keep seeing "Cub and Fang". It's the name of the website, it's on our holiday cards, but what the heck? Well, Cub is Ian, but Cub is his true form. He's always been called Cub and if you look at him, yeah he's a Cub. Fang is Allanna, but she's had a number of identities through the years: Lanie, Bing, Lana, and the Fang. In this picture, that fang is pictured prominently.

They met through rugby, some things happened, and they just figured they might as well get married.

Your presence at our wedding is the only present we require.

However, if you wish to further dazzle our special day with a gift, we have created an online registry at the following:

FAQs

Is this a costume party?

Despite the call for capes, it is not a costume party. We want you to wear all the glitter that wouldn't be appropriate for the every day, not wear a Batman costume.

Will there be liquor?

Due to the venue's license, we will not have hard liquor, but there will be delicious beers, wines, champagnes, and non-alcoholic beverages!

Why the venue change?

A number of reasons, but we love True North and its offerings and frankly, Cub hates anytime he leaves the North Shore. He loses his powers.

Where's Johnny roast Beef?

Unfortunately, the Beef will not be presiding over the ceremony. He would escape and steal a boat and it would turn into a whole thing.

What to do

ENTERTAIN ME!

If you've never been here or maybe you just wanna do tourist-like things, the fall in New England is pretty great.

The wedding will be a week AFTER Halloween, so Salem will still be doing Spooktacular stuff, with way less people. Still expect some crowds. I recommend parking at the Salem MBTA garage to avoid the parking hassle. From there it is a short walk into town. There's too much to list, so I recommend checking out Salem's Haunted Happenings.

I heard good things about this Boston place - some faves are the MFA, Aquarium, Duckboat Tours, Fenway Park tours, Freedom Trail tours. You can also go to Harvard and solve equations and stuff. Boston is an extremely walkable city and despite our reputation, we take a bit of civic pride in helping tourists get to where they want to go.

Portsmouth, NH and Portland, ME are within a reasonable driving distance and are both worth visiting. Portland is a particular favorite of The Fang's, if you go be sure to get your seafood fix at The High Roller. Both cities can be reached by taking 95 or for a more fun day trip, Old Route 1.

Like outlet shopping? Who the hell doesn't? While Wareham is a bit of a drive, it is indeed the best outlet mall around. However, Kittery, ME isn't too shabby and the infamous Kittery Trading Post is right there as well. So if you lost your luggage or wanted to buy us some wedding guns, you can go all of this and more in Kittery, ME.

LEAF PEEEEEEEEEEP!!!! Leaf peeping in New England has existed since man first crawled out of the primordial goo and said 'Well ain't that a beautiful vista!' Or it was Ogga Boooga Ooooga Ooooga. Either way, it's a beaut that starts in late September and carries through early November. A day try up through the Kancmagus Highway with a stop in North Conway (MORE OUTLETS) is a good time. Stop at the Moat Mountain Brewery for an Iron Mike and a plate of ribs.

I want Chinese/Polynesian….. go to Kowloon in Saugus

I want fried seafood and a lot of it… go to The Clambox in Ipswich or Dube’s in Salem

I want a good burrito, taco, torta….go to La Victoria in Beverly

I want twin lobsters and a menu without a lot of fuss.…go to The Anchor in Beverly

I want sushi….go to Blue Fin in Middleton

I want a prime rib (and the rest of the menu isn’t too bad either)….go to Loretta’s in Newburyport

I want BBQ….go to the Rusty Can in Rowley and wear loose pants

I want Italian food….Ponte Vecchio in Danvers or Toscana in Peabody

I want really good pub food with a solid selection of beers….Tin Whistle in Beverly

I want steak tips….Champions in Peabody

I don’t really care what the food tastes like, I wanna play Keno, pull tabs, and some Big Buck hunter….go to The Winner’s Circle in Salisbury

I want a big breakfast…go to Salem, where breakfast is their number one export and check out any of the following: Maria’s (where the locals go), Red’s (where the locals get upset with tourists), Fountain Place (right in the middle of downtown) Deb’s (only active diner in Salem), but AVOID the Ugly Mug (expensive, line down the street, not worth the wait, strictly for tourists) and finally Bagel World in Salem, Danvers, or Peabody (there will be a line, but it moves fast and the sandwiches are huge. I recommend loading up the bagels and lox and adding bacon)

I want breakfast, but not Salem….Depot Diner in Beverly, Brothers Deli in Danvers, Agawam Diner in Rowley, Mad Martha’s on Plum Island, Crave in Beverly (amazing sandwiches and coffee), Little Depot Diner in Peabody, Peabody Diner in, you guessed it, Peabody,

I need a coffee… Olive’s in Newburyport (super friendly, lot of vegan baked goods), Aroma Joes in Amesbury (outstanding service), Kaffmandu in Danvers (possibly the best coffee on the list), Atomic Coffee in Beverly (been there for about 30 years, supplies coffee to most places on this list), Gulu Gulu in Salem (coffee tends to be great, service can be hit or miss…employs a lot of cool-looking hipsters that sometimes don’t give a shit), Starbucks drive thru in Salem (honestly, the service was amazing),

I want to try this Roast Beef thing you people brag about….Pomodori in Newburyport, Modern Butcher in Danvers, Route 110 in Amesbury. If you go to Nick’s in North Beverly or Kelly’s then don’t bother coming to the wedding. You’ve wasted my time and have disappointed me. Basically, any place that boasts a good roast beef, those two aside, will do the trick. Just ask for a super beef 3-way and enjoy.
